Viewing PDF Documents
|
 |
Some documents available
for download require a PDF reader to view. This is available
for free, so click here to download
the Acrobat Reader. However using Adobe Acrobat Reader
as a plug-in to your internet browser may cause incompatibilities
that prevent proper viewing and/or printing of the documents
you are downloading from this web site. The following are
alternative methods that allow for proper viewing and printing.
First you must open your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader
and find out what version you have installed. Select "Help" from
the top Command Menu followed by "About Acrobat Reader".
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0
Open Adobe Acrobat Reader as a separate application. Make sure you
are not viewing it as a plug-in through your browser. Select "Edit" from
the top Command Menu. Select "Preferences" from the drop
down menu followed by "General". Make sure "options" is
selected in the left hand column of the pop-up window that appears.
Uncheck the box "Display PDF in Browser" followed by OK.
The next time you select a hyperlink in your browser that contains
a PDF file, a pop-up window will appear asking if you would like
to Save the file or Open the file. Selecting Open will launch Adobe
Acrobat Reader as a separate application instead of a plug-in inside
your browser.
Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0
Open Adobe Acrobat Reader as a separate application. Make sure
you are not viewing it as a plug-in through your browser. Select "File" from
the top Command Menu. Select "Preferences" from the
drop down menu followed by "General". Uncheck the box "Web
Browser Integration " option followed by OK. The next time
you select a hyperlink in your browser that contains a PDF file,
a pop-up window will appear asking if you would like to Save
the file or Open the file. Selecting Open will launch Adobe Acrobat
Reader as a separate application instead of a plug-in inside
your browser.
Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 or earlier
RIGHT click on the PDF hyperlink instead of Left clicking on it.
A small pop-up menu will appear. If you are using Microsoft Internet
Explorer select "Save Target As". If you are using
Netscape select "Save Link As". Another pop-up window
will appear allowing you to select the location you wish to save
the file to. After you have saved the file you can can open the
file running Adobe Acrobat Reader as a separate application.
